Tomorrow will rise again.
When the evacuation order for the Eaton Fire was issued, I didn’t pack much except for a framed photo of my partner and me, my two most prized possessions, my cameras, and Chloe, our tortie cat in tow.
I quickly glanced at the burning sky as we drove away and captured this photograph. It made me contemplate the fragility of our existence. Tomorrow is not a guarantee; everything we know may and will disappear one day. So, what do we hold onto? What do we make space for? That’s what this photo is meant to highlight. Tomorrow will rise again only if we believe in it. That persistence and perseverance start with us. This reminds us not to lose hope and fight, against all odds.
