Homecoming 回家 (2017–2019)

Homecoming is a photographic series shaped by my return to Hong Kong, the city of my birth. Created between 2017 and 2019, the work reflects on diasporic memory and the sensory imprint of place.

Rather than document the city directly, the series approaches Hong Kong through atmosphere—salted sea air, medicinal herbs, late-night streets thick with smoke and humidity. These elements function not as description, but as carriers of memory. The photographs translate scent, density, and ambient light into visual form, exploring how place persists within the body long after departure.

Homecoming considers what it means to return—not to a fixed geography, but to a layered interior landscape shaped by inheritance, distance, and time.
