Snow Cows (2024)

Snow Cows is a meditation on resilience and belonging. Photographed at Hickory Hearth Highlands — a small family sanctuary in the American countryside of — these portraits honor three Highland cows: Ollie, Libby, and Opal. Each was taken in after histories of abandonment and neglect, finding refuge in a landscape of care.

Their quiet strength is a mirror of my own family legacy: my father, too, was adopted in the 1950s after being left behind. Through their presence, I see both the fragility of loss and the dignity of survival.

Set against the stillness of winter, this body of work explores sanctuary as more than a place — it is memory reclaimed, dignity restored, and a reminder that tenderness can endure even in the harshest seasons.
