Hope Springs debuts at this year’s 60th Pasadena Showcase House, an ode to the cotswolds countryside

My recent art installation inside the 2025 Pasadena Showcase House, affectionately named the Bauer Estate, was a real labor of love. Considered to be Reginald D. Johnson’s finest architectural work, the estate once belonged to Stephen J. Cannell - prolific Hollywood writer of movies like 21 Jumpstreet and Castle - and covers an impressive 15,000 square foot home on 5 acres - the biggest showcase house to date.

Inside Rebecca Hansen’s gorgeous modern stairway, a featured piece from my Infrared Dreams collection was installed and proudly displayed within this year’s house. The theme this year was heavily inspired by the Cotswolds and old world European countryside homes. There’s a lived-in intimacy that is evoked in the halls of this space. Coupled with the old-world, floral mural on lathe plaster walls, my art pieces take on a different persona. One that embodies the context of the estate’s rich history and 1928 roots.

It required extra precision and care due to the sensitive nature of working with lathe plaster walls. Our contractor did an incredible job handling all of these nuances as they arise.

“Hope Springs” in particular is a heartfelt dedication to all those individuals and families who’ve tragically lost their homes and have been profoundly impacted due to the devastating Eaton fire. It is my sincere intention that hope will spring anew wherever they may land, providing them with solace and a brighter future. I firmly believe that our collective hopes and unwavering faith will carry us through even the most challenging times.

I am incredibly honored to have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the Pasadena Showcase House. I genuinely hope you all enjoy these carefully curated pieces, crafted with love and passion, from the bottom of my heart, transitioning seamlessly from my camera to your screen.
