My first impression of Bella Moulding Prism Frames
Woah.
It’s my first time framing a piece in a custom Bella Moulding Prisma moulding. Let’s just say I am obsessed.
I’ve been sitting on this photograph for a long time. It wasn’t until mid 2022 that I wanted to frame “Rainbow Sequins.” Choosing the right frame for this 1 of 1 edition proved to be quite the struggle. I bounced back and forth, between various online framing vendors like Framebridge or Simply Framed. Nothing quite matched the splendor of this image.
In my ongoing search, I landed on something much better. Ballard Artwork Framing right in my neck of the woods in Pasadena. I made an appointment, and Andrew, their master framer, knew instantly what would work. I trusted him fully because the consultation was just. that. good. I left “Rainbow Sequins” behind knowing fully it’s in the hands of artisans and expert framers.
Turns out my instincts were right. Seeing “Rainbow Sequins” fully framed in a custom Bella Prisma moulding was breathtaking. It has such a special dimensional weight to it. The subtly curvaceous structure of the frame accentuates the image so beautifully. Moral of the lesson here is to always go with your gut and always support your local small businesses whenever you can. Not only is it a peace of mind (because shipping fragile framed artwork is always such a thrilling experience), but it keeps artisans and craftspeople sustained in your local community.
I am so happy with how this 1 of 1 edition came out. I hope you are too. Getting the right frame for my pieces is absolutely crucial to my practice. It’s also very expensive. This is partially why my pieces are priced the way they are. And I am not sorry about it.
For those of you who are reading this and are interested in collecting “Rainbow Sequins,” I invite you to take a further look. It’s probably best in person but I did my best to capture the entirety of this piece online as well. Anyway I am rambling, I hope you love this piece as much as I do. Happy Pride, all.
